Gill’s Lending Library
Some Dreams Come True
A massive FREE library, collected over 17 years, both fiction and non-fiction on all subjects, including over 200,000 books, 55,000 papers, 14,000 audios, 500,000 illustrations, 10,000 MP3 songs from all over our World and 6500 videos. Gill’s Library, if in hard text books, would be worth $15 million or more, take many years to collect and would fill 15,000 feet or 4500 meters of bookshelves. This is now free to all for coping onto your external 1TB Passport size (total size 800 GBs) Hard Drive ($80 in the USA). I only ask that you share the library with everyone around you (friends, family, local schools and Universities), placing it in a folder named, “Gill’s Library”, to give me due credit for thousands of hours over 17 years of work, Thanks & Enjoy….

The Library is organized by subject in a user friendly logical manner and is unlike professional libraries that are physical hard texts in one area, audios in another area and videos in yet another area. All medias are in single subject areas and are placed in multiple subjects when needed, I.E. “Geology of Africa” is in both the Geology file and the Africa file whereas in a physical library the item would only be in one subject area. The library is searchable and both individual items and whole subject areas. This is truly the “library of the future” and free access to all information is here now and easily copied to protect our freedoms. There is no person to say this is correct and this needs to be banned, we can see all information and decide what we choose to believe. There are some publications in this library that you may strongly oppose, but this is a research library and therefore must contain all books representing all sides of political, scientific and historical issues so feel fortunate to have such a broad base of information to review for reshaping your own opinion. Life is getting better and so let’s all enjoy the wonderful access to information that only a short time ago was available to the privileged few.
More than 90 percent of all the holdings in lending libraries worldwide are still in copyright and as this electronic library is also a lending library like any other don’t look for problems. This library is not a finished product but it is the foundation for a world library as future items and Medias develop.
This library is from the efforts of Project Gutenberg’s 40 years of work from 1972 to the present, including nearly 40,000 books from both the USA & Australia. There are nearly 5000 books from www.archive.org incredible efforts (search A.O.pdf). www.sacred-texts.com organized by John Bruno Hare 1955 - 2010 has over 8000 books in Gill’s Library, including, “Sacred Books of the East” (SBE), series of 50 Vols. 1879-1910 in Beliefs. Many hundreds of other varied sources have also been used for this Gill’s Library. I have merely used my skills as a collector and indexer to organize this information into an all new, easy-to-use, user friendly, searchable library.
You need to spend an hour or so to understand its simple organization.
When you enter “Gill’s Library” there are 15 Folders representing 15 rooms for each subject library, IE, Science, Beliefs, Myths & History, Philosophy-Psychology, etc. and under that are Included an extensive general reference library. Like you walk into a very large physical library and there stands the librarian and you ask her where are the Science or the Myths & History, room and she points to another room entrance. Behind or near her in the entrance room is an extensive general reference library. Thus they are separate, FOLDERS (rooms) and then extensive general reference library.
Then you go into the Science reading room to see the librarian standing there and you ask her where the Biology or Astronomy or Physics & Math rooms are and she points you in the proper room thus FOLDERS are at the top and then you notice that behind or near her in the entrance room is an extensive general Science reference library.
Then you go into the Biology reading room to see the librarian standing there and you ask her where the Evolution & Darwin or books by Steven Arthur Pinker are and she points you in the proper room thus FOLDERS are at the top and then you notice that behind or near her in the entrance room is an extensive general Biology reference library. ETC ETC..

How & Why The Library Was Organized
I have been a serious book collector since 1965 when I collected the largest collection of books and manuscripts on Gems & Jewelry. Out of this collection, the largest in the world of its kind, came “GILL'S INDEX - Published by the Gemological Institute of America, GIA - 1978”. This was the first book ever published by the prestigious GIA not written by a member of their own staff. This exhaustive index of the entire field still stands as a central reference. I have recently greatly updated and modernized this index into a 650 page e-text, “Gill's Historical Index To Gems And Jewelry Online - by Joseph O. Gill, Aug 13 2009” that can be downloaded for FREE along with its Appendix 1, at both our website www.worldglobetrotters.com or (in Gill’s Library in the SCIENCE - Gems, Minerals & Geology section) or at www.archive.org .
I sold my gem & jewelry library via Christies, famous auction house in New York City on Madison Avenue, "THE GILL COLLECTION OF HISTORICAL GEM BOOKS". 1st sale: October 21, 1987; 2nd sale: December 2, 1987; 3rd sale: April 20, 1988 & the last, 4th and final, Single Owner Sale: June 7 1988. These book sales were part of Christie’s catalog, “Magnificent Jewelry”, each having sales of over 20 million dollars in jewels and gems. The Introduction to my book sale is written by Neil Letson a very noted writer for Christies, The Smithsonian Magazine, Connoisseur, The Saturday Evening Post, The Atlantic Monthly, etcetera. This Introduction covers the origins of this unique book collection and is reproduced below. Christies had difficulties in both their Antique Book Department and Jewelry Department to find someone qualified to actually do the cataloging and pricing. With my own background at auction with Sotheby's and an expert on the books in my own collection it was decided I was the most qualified. For the first time that I know, since Christies origins in the early 1700's, the consigner did both catalogue and put price estimates. I did this for the entire four catalogues. This rare catalog can be downloaded for FREE at (in Gill’s Library the SCIENCE - Gems, Minerals & Geology section) or www.archive.org . This unique collection still stands as the largest ever sold of its kind at auction anywhere in the world as of today 2011.

My long term life’s dream was to have a truly ground-breaking library both fiction and non-fiction on all subjects, including books, papers, audios and videos all in a small portable package. I have spent thousands of hours over the last 16 years to make this dream come true. Now my e text, all media library is 800 GBs and all fits on my handy 1 TB Passport external hard drive. I have shared this over 200,000 item library, 600 - 2010, with hundreds of individuals, schools, universities and public libraries in China, SE Asia, India, Australia, Africa, Europe and North America. The library was carefully selected from hundreds of various sources and contains many of the rarest and nearly lost classic books that are all important tomes on their different subjects and worth many thousands of dollars for one original copy, here all in PDF format, front cover to back cover and made text sensitive and fully searchable. You can easily copy them to a text-to-speech program such as Natural Reader to have the entire text read to you in perfect English by any of 6 male or female English readers or have the entire book converted to an mp3 file to be read to you on your pocket music player. Natural Reader will read any books or papers instantly, and even your email, anything on your computers clipboard. This program can make the font size any size, the speed can be slow or fast, so you can follow along or you can listen to some beautiful piano music at the same time while being read to. You can also have a wonderful slide show you can view with the music of your choice while you are being read to. You can even have the paper you just wrote read to you to hear how it sounds out loud."

MAKE YOUR OWN E-LIBRARY ON YOUR LAPTOP EASILY (and back it up on an external hard drive)
I have collected a massive FREE library over 16 years, both fiction and non-fiction on all subjects, including over 200,000 books, 55,000 papers, 14,000 audios, 250,000 illustrations and 6500 videos, all on my laptop, size of library is 650 GBs..
For an extensive list of freely downloadable references of many thousands of books, papers and videos and many that are very rare on this subject see:
E-texts, videos, pictures, etc. on everything can be downloaded for FREE at
www.archive.org
( use search
words or keywords like symbolism, religion, sun worship, swastika, cross,
freemasonry, author name, exact title, etc. )
I first go to www.archive.org then Gutenberg Project http://promo.net/pg/ (order their Free new DVD with 29,500 books) , www.sacred-texts.com , and posted on other special interest web sites like Truth Seeker Co., www.christianism.com, www.infidels.org , www.theosophical.ca/OnLineDocs.htm , omacl.org, and hundreds of other sites for FREE download and or easy reading.
Go to www.torrentz.com, an incredible file share web search site for old and brand new Books-Papers-Movies-Documentaries-Music-Photos-Etc., including collections of ALL books by hundreds of authors, hundreds of encyclopedias, dictionaries in huge prearranged collections. You first download the Free file sharing program I use, “µTorrent” (or similar program), then install it. Turn on uTorrent then go to www.torrentz.com and search for whatever you want then select it; the top 3 lines of so-called results are not real, under this is a variety of results to download from, then select a desired file. I favor, ThePirateBay.org or torrentdownloads.net , but others are easy as well, download the “Free torrent” (this is a tiny link file that allows you to download the shared file you desire) this opens in utorrent (that should already be on). I have never paid for any torrent. You can direct that the desired files can be downloaded anywhere on your computer. If you would like to also share any files with others online it I have found to be perfectly safe as they can search your files ONLY where you allow them, It is easy and good to be a fellow sharer as well as taker. Downloading is done in many parts and you can stop and later resume any downloads as you like, the program utorrent is VERY easy and will change your life. There are often over 200 million people online at the same time, sharing files of all kinds, so you will be amazed to find just about ANYTHING, ANYTIME, for FREE….. IT IS EASY!!!!!!!!
I hope to soon have my vast collection online as a series of torrents at www.torrentz.com , for free download.
“What are e-texts (electronic texts) & how does it help me?”
Make yourself laugh
Joseph Gill
We live in a world that is changing fast and the information age is here.
You ask the old librarian: "Do you have that book in your library? No, it is
checked out now for two weeks and there are three people waiting for it before
you, shall I add you to the list?"
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "Do you have that book in your library?
Yes of course, shall I put a copy on your flash drive?"
You ask the old librarian: "Do you have that book in your library? No, but I can get it from another library in a few weeks, if it is available and not checked out at that library."
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "Do you have that book in your library? Yes of course, shall I put a copy on your flash drive?"
You ask the old librarian: "Where will I find that book, in the section under American History or Religion or Philosophy or Psychology? That book is rare and we only have one copy so I can check where it is now and get back to you and will tell you if it is available and not checked out."
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "Where will I find that book, in the section under American History or Religion or Philosophy or Psychology? Yes of course we put a copy in each section and you can search for it in a fraction of a second. Shall I put a copy on your flash drive?"
You ask the old librarian: "Do you have that book in your library? No, we have to consider our shelf space and that book was discarded because we had only a few people ask for it. We also are given books that we find offensive and politically incorrect, or not acceptable to today's scientific beliefs so we decide to discard that publication."
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "Do you have that book in your library?
Yes of course expensive shelf space is not an issue in this library and we do
not have to review the importance of any book for the people visiting this
library. My favorite quote of Schopenhauer is: "All truth goes through three
steps: First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is
accepted as self-evident." Now shall I put a copy on your flash drive?"
You call the old librarian on the phone and ask: "Do you have that book in your
library? Yes and because of budget cuts we are only open at, such in such,
limited hours and we are located across town, be on time."
You call the modern e-texts librarian: "Do you have that book in your library? Yes of course as we do not have to build thousands of shelves and have acres of space we have a lot of money for all the e-texts we get. What is your email and I will send you a copy in a couple minutes? If you want I can also send you all the other books by that author or on your subject in the same email."
You ask the old librarian: "Where can I find, in this 500 page book, the information about "Atlantis" I need? Sorry, most books have limited indexes or no indexes at all so spend a few hours and look for it".
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "Where can I find in this 500 page book the information about "Atlantis" I need. You can click CTRL + F and type in "Atlantis" and find any information instantly and can copy it instantly onto your own notes, so enjoy."
You ask the old librarian: "How many copies are there of that rare book and can I borrow it? No there is only one copy and you must use it in our library only.
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: How many copies are there of that rare book and can I borrow it? Of course, we can make millions of copies of that rare book. Now, shall I put a copy on your flash drive?"
You ask the old librarian: "I am a slow reader, my English isn't so good and I have trouble reading or my eyes are not as good as they used to be, can someone read to me? We have a few audio books and that is all we can do for you."
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "I am a slow reader, my English isn't so good and I have trouble reading or my eyes are not as good as they used to be, can someone read to me? You can go on the net and download Natural Reader. This will read any books or papers instantly, and even your email, anything on your computers clipboard. This program can make the font size any size, the speed can be slow or fast so you can follow along or you can listen to some beautiful piano music at the same time while being read to. We also have a wonderful slide show you can view with the music of your choice while you are being read to. You can even have the paper you just wrote read to you to hear how it sounds out loud."
You ask the old librarian: "I enjoyed that book by that author. Do you have any speeches or talks or documentaries by him or on that subject? Yes, but they are in another section of the library and I am not sure where they are or if we have them. Let me check and get back in a while. Yes, we have only a couple but they are checked out now for two weeks and there are three people waiting for it before you, shall I add you to the list?"
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "I enjoyed that book by that author. Do you have any speeches or talks or documentaries by him or on that subject? Yes of course they are all together in our "" E-texts Library of the Future" which is here NOW. So, shall I put a copy of all you are requesting on your flash drive?"
You ask the old librarian: "Do you have that book in your library? What is the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) number?"
You ask the modern e-texts librarian: "Do you have that book in your library and do I need the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) number? No, I can search for your book by authors name or any keyword or even the date in a couple seconds. You only need ISBN numbers for hard texts for locating them or ordering them from a bookstore. They have no need for ISBN numbers with the instant search we have on any computer today. Now, shall I put a copy on your flash drive?"
Do not print books: save paper and ink, get ecological, get modern, use searchable & easy to copy e texts, be a good example for others………..
